• Each team has a “flag” (it can be anything—use your imagination) placed in their home base.
• The goal is to steal the opponent’s flag and return it to your base without being tagged.
• If a player is tagged while holding the flag, they must drop it and return to their base.

5. Simon Says

How to Play:

• One player is “Simon” and gives commands, such as “Simon says jump.”
• Players must follow the commands, but only if they begin with “Simon says.”
• If Simon gives a command without saying “Simon says,” players who follow the command are out.
• The last remaining player becomes Simon.

6. Red Rover

How to Play:

• Divide players into two teams.
• Teams stand facing each other and hold hands.
• One team chants, “Red Rover, Red Rover, send [player’s name] over.”
• The player from the other team runs toward them and tries to break through the line by running into it.
• If they break through, they take a player back to their team; if not, they join the other team.

7. Hide the Thimble

How to Play:

• One player hides a small object, such as a thimble, while the others close their eyes or leave the room.
• After hiding the object, the hiders return, and the search begins.
• The hiders must give clues or warm/cold hints as players search.
• The first person to find the thimble hides it for the next round.

8. Ghost in the Graveyard

How to Play:

• One player is chosen to be the “ghost.”
• The ghost hides, and the other players search.
• Players chant a rhyme like “Ghost in the graveyard, ready or not, here I come!”
• When the ghost is spotted, everyone must run back to “home” (a designated safe zone).
• The last person tagged becomes the ghost in the next round.

9. Duck, Duck, Goose

How to Play:

• Players sit in a circle while one person walks around the outside of the circle, tapping heads and saying “duck” for each person they pass.
• When they say “goose,” the tapped person must jump up and chase the “duck.”
• The goal is to tag the “duck” before they sit back in the empty spot.

10. Kick the Can

How to Play:

• Set a can in an open area and designate a player to be “it.”
• The other players try to sneak up and kick the can without being tagged.
• If “it” sees someone and tags them, they must return to “jail” (a safe zone).
• The game continues until someone kicks the can.

11. Statue Game (Freeze)

How to Play:

• One person is the “statue maker” and stands at one end.
• The others start at the opposite end and must move toward the statue maker when they aren’t looking.
• When the statue maker turns around, everyone must freeze.
• Anyone caught moving must return to the starting point.

12. Sharks and Minnows

How to Play:

• One player is the “shark,” and the others are “minnows.”
• The minnows must run from one side of the playing area to the other without being tagged by the shark.
• If a minnow is tagged, they become a shark in the next round.

13. Mother May I?

How to Play:

• One person is the “mother,” and the others line up across from her.
• Players take turns asking, “Mother, may I take [number of] steps forward?”
• The mother can grant or deny the request.
• The first player to reach the mother wins.

14. Shadow Tag

How to Play:

• One person is “it” and tries to step on others’ shadows.
• If a shadow is stepped on, the person whose shadow was tagged becomes “it.”

15. Spy Mission

How to Play:

• One person is the “spy,” and they secretly give the other players a mission.
• The mission could be anything, like moving without being seen or finding something hidden.
• Players must complete the mission without revealing their objective to the rest of the group.

16. Follow the Leader

How to Play:

• One player is the leader, and the others must follow their actions exactly.
• The leader can do anything from jumping to spinning to walking in a funny way.
• Players are out if they fail to mimic the leader’s actions.

17. Charades

How to Play:

• Players take turns acting out a word or phrase without speaking, while the others try to guess it.
• Set a time limit for each round.
• The team with the most correct guesses wins.

18. Wink Murder

How to Play:

• One player is the murderer, and the others are innocent bystanders.
• The murderer winks at players to “kill” them without being caught.
• If an innocent player notices the wink, they shout “murder!”
• The game continues until the murderer is caught or everyone is dead.

19. The Floor is Lava

How to Play:

• Players must avoid touching the ground (which is considered “lava”).
• Players can only stand on certain objects, like benches, logs, or anything elevated.
• If someone touches the ground, they’re out for the round.

20. Running Races

How to Play:

• Mark out a start and finish line.
• Players race from one end to the other.
• The first person to cross the finish line wins.
